Adobe has already Released AIR , proclaimed to be on of the top emerging technologies on the Web .

The software is available for download from Adobe’s site
AIR 1.0 is a platform that allows developers to use Web technologies to build applications that can run online or offline. This enables the user to use Web applications as the were Desktop applications with the ability to drag and drop between applications. Downloads are currently available here for Windows and Macintosh operating systems, and Adobe plans to follow with releases for Linux and mobile devices.

For an average user it means , he can now expect more and more of his/her online applications to be available offline and have greater ease in working with it..

Ebay has developed a desktop version of it’s services using Adobe AIR
